NEWELL—A fun Friday evening together with friends, paint, and pop was spent at a Sip and Paint Workshop on October 17.
Lynette Culver led participants in creating a two-foot-tall Halloween cat mini porch sitter painting—just in time for spooky season! After healing from a broken hand and not painting for a year and a half, Lynette wondered if she could still do it. “I haven’t ever been to a sip and paint event, so I hope I’m doing this right,” she said.
Lynette did a fantastic job leading all of the participants through a complicated cat and pumpkin painting, encouraging everyone as they went. There was a lot of laughter and good stories throughout the evening. She has been painting since 1991, so it was old hat to her!
The event was held at the NVN Senior Citizen Center, and for $25, instruction, soft drinks, and all of the supplies were included. All of the proceeds from the event go to the Senior Center. Lynette volunteered her time. “What we charge tonight goes to the NVN Center for the utilities,” she explained.
If you are looking for something to do on a Friday evening and want to get out of the house, have some fun, and participate in fundraising for a good cause, mark your calendar for November 14, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and come to the next Sip and Paint Workshop.
A fall scarecrow on a 16-inch round cardboard will be the project. All supplies are included in the price. Space is limited. Reach out to Lynette to preregister.
