VALE—Baby quilts, afghans, handmade home decor, embroidered gifts, jewelry, books and fresh baked goods—the list of treasures to discover seemed endless at the Vale Community Club’s Autumn Bazaar on Oct. 17. The Vale Community Hall was filled to capacity with vendors offering crafts and holiday gifts.
Vendors also set up in the open spaces outside the community hall to offer larger items. The weather was perfect for spending a Saturday shopping for the holidays, with warm sunshine and very little wind.
There were fun activities for the kids to take part in while parents spent time wandering around from booth to booth. The kids had the opportunity to make Halloween-themed bookmarks and Jess Casteel offered face painting. And one of the vendors, Fred Wilson, had his booth set up to sell his book, Stinky Feet Pete. He also offered the kids a fun scavenger hunt to go along with the book.
No shopping day would be complete without good food to fuel the holiday shopping frenzy! The menu for the day included pulled pork nachos or mac & cheese with coleslaw, dessert and a drink for $10.
The next events at the Vale Community Hall are the trunk-or-treat in the Community Hall parking lot on Oct. 31 at 4 p.m., followed by the final bingo of the year on Nov. 11 beginning at 6 p.m. Bingo cards are $1 each, with snacks and drinks provided.
