Coalition Spotlight Colleen Brunner.

Newell News

Colleen Brunner has been a part of the Whatever It Takes Coalition since the early days, serving first as media liaison and, following her retirement as a reporter, she has served as a representative of the Newell Improvement Corporation. NIC is a non-profit organization serving the Newell, Vale and Nisland communities by improving infrastructure and communication.

Colleen is a wife, mother of four and grandmother of 12, and takes an active role in serving through WIT and in other areas of the community. She participates as a volunteer through the Newell Food Pantry, Feeding South Dakota at the community level, and is active in Nisland Independent Community Church, and the outreach roles it has. She is a member of the NICC Women’s Ministry group, serving the community through the endeavors of that organization. She serves as the treasurer for the church. She is also a member of the Nisland/Arpan Fire & Rescue. She also works part-time as a marketing association for a Texas flooring company and has a side hustle of sewing, alterations, and crafting with her friend Anna Crockford.

We appreciate having Colleen as a WIT Members as she is very knowledgeable in helping pursue grants for the community, etc. and is in charge of the STEW Newell Facebook page which helps keep the community informed of events. Sabrina Harmon
