BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. — The community is invited to join the Center of the Nation 9/11 Remembrance Weekend on September 11–12, 2026, as Belle Fourche honors the lives lost, the heroes who served, and the spirit of unity that emerged following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The weekend is free and open to the public.

The centerpiece of the weekend is a memorial of nearly 3,000 American flags, with each flag representing one person who lost their life on September 11. Every flag includes a personalized tag with the victim’s name and story, reminding visitors that behind every number was a person whose life mattered.
The 9/11 Never Forget Blood Drive honors the thousands of Americans who donated blood in the days following September 11 and offers today’s community an opportunity to continue that legacy of helping others. Those wishing to donate blood may schedule an appointment by emailing bf911neverforget@ gmail.com or calling Jennifer at 605-858-1158. Walk-ins will be accepted as availability allows.
As our nation marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, organizers hope the weekend serves as both a memorial to those we lost and a reminder that even in tragedy, compassion, service, and unity can endure. Parking near Herrmann Park may be limited. Attendees are encouraged to carpool when possible and allow extra time for parking.
