BELLE FOURCHE—The summer is slipping away almost as quickly as it arrived. This past week already brought the seventh week in the ten-week series of the 2026 Hometown Thursdays Summer Concerts.
Mother Nature has made her presence known this summer as rain has forced the event to move indoors twice and a record heat wave has been in the area, but that has not slowed down the friends, families and neighbors from coming out each week to enjoy all the festivities.
This week, July 16, Brandon Jones Band entertained the crowd. Brandon Jones sings with a strong, powerful voice, and his gritty sound is the hallmark of country music. The band’s setlist included many of the band’s own songs along with modern country covers from the likes of Luke Combs, Chris LeDoux, Chris Stapleton and Blake Shelton mixed with classics from Johnny Cash and Dwight Yoakam.
Jones did a great job of introducing the audience to the songs he was singing and incorporated humor into his storytelling to keep everyone engaged between songs. The band was sponsored by Pioneer Bank & Trust, Auto Pros and David Pummel & Associates.
Inside the Tri-State Museum, the bouncy house was set up for the kids to enjoy some fun out of the heat and a kids activity corner where kids could create their own monster to represent that it is monstrously hot!
The Hometown Thursdays Board debuted a new bright purple tent displaying their logo for the event, making them easy to find if needed. It also housed the beer garden. There was no group on hand selling 50/50 fundraiser tickets this week.
The Belle Fourche Volunteer Fire Department brought their new bright, shiny red engine for the public to explore. It was quite a sight with all the lights on and flashing.
Vendors and food trucks lined the park to offer a large variety of food options. Mangled Foods, Asian Eatstreet, Rollin in the Hills, PooterQ, Crazee Cow Ice Cream, Pearson Block Candy Shop, Brain Freeze and Kernel’s & Kandies brought delicious food choices for an evening meal or a good snack.
Since 2013, Hometown Thursdays have been bringing musicians to the community for weekly gatherings. The summer concerts draw community members together down by the river to enjoy a fun evening. The event runs every Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Next week, Wilt Brothers will take the stage.
There are only three weeks left in the special summer musical series. The rest of the summer schedule includes July 23, Wilt Brothers; July 30, Tim Zach Band; and August 6, JJ Kent with Aces and 8s.
