SPEARFISH—An evening at the ballpark was the setting for the June Chamber Mixer, hosted by long-time chamber members the Spearfish Sasquatch along with the Belle Fourche Chamber of Commerce.
The evening featured a game between the 2025 iLB Champion Sasquatch and the Oahe Zap from Pierre. Zap led 5-4 at the top of the seventh inning. That would be the last time the Zap led as the Sasquatch went on to score five runs to move ahead 9-5. Sasquatch won the game with a final score of 12 runs to 5.
The team began playing in Spearfish in 2018 and are in their eighth season. They play throughout the summer with tickets starting at $7.
For the Chamber Mixer, members met on the Party Deck. For a ticket price of $28, members had a private area with tables and chairs with umbrellas and dedicated servers. The menu for the evening included all-you-can-eat brats, hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers and a variety of pizzas by the slice. Drinks included water and lemonade. There was also a bar on site for those that wanted additional beverages.
The team mascot Samson the Sasquatch came over and interacted with Chamber members on occasion. The kids were welcome to participate in any of the youth activities.
Around 7 p.m., Michaela Horn, director, and Brianne Bonnet, assistant director, addressed the group and thanked everyone for coming out to the game for the night. They held a special drawing for two of the Belle Fourche stickers specifically for those that were in attendance.
The Connect and Collect drawing for $400 was held. All Chamber Members were entered into that drawing. The member drawn must be at the Mixer to claim the winnings. This month Leavitt Group was the lucky winner; however, there was no one from their business in attendance so the $400 will roll over to next month’s drawing.
The July Chamber Mixer will be at E & M Steel Products on Monday, July 13 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
