The high school track and field team competed in the Black Hills Classic track meet in Sturgis on Saturday May 9th where they had an outstanding 22 personal records set along with 6 season best times for the athletes and 6 changes to their all time top ten school leaderboard. Among the new leader board positions are; Mya Nowowiejski moving to 3rd all time in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.49, the girls 4x100m relay team of Jaz Olson, Ansley O’Brien, Ella Bryan and Mya Nowowiejski moving to 3rd all time on the school leader board with a time of 50.53, the girls 4x400m relay team of Mya Nowowiejski, Berklee Nore, Emersyn Carmichael and Ansley O’Brien moving to 4thall time with a time of 4:15.15, Nathan Hudson moving to 9th all time in the javelin with a throw of 100’3” and Colt Humbracht moving into 10th all time in the javelin with a throw of 96’2”.
The Broncs have the Mountain West Invite in Lead and the Black Hills Conference Invite in Custer this week on their schedule with a final meet, the “Last Chance Invite”, next week on Tuesday May 19th in Rapid City at O’Hara Stadium. State Track will be held in Sioux Falls this year on May 28-30th.
