BELLE FOURCHE—On Friday May 8th, the Belle Fourche Middle School track and field team competed in their final meet of the season. The Middle School Black Hills Conference meet was held in Spearfish this year and consisted of the following teams; Belle Fourche, Custer, Douglas, Enning/Union Center, Hermosa, Hill City, Hot Springs, Lead-Deadwood, Rapid City Christian, Spearfish, St Thomas More, Stagebarn, and Sturgis Williams. The Broncs had many top performances in the meet.
A number of middle school athletes were able to move up to the high school team after the final middle school meet was completed and then were able to compete in the Black Hills Classic meet on the high school team on Saturday May 9th. A couple of those middle schoolers were able to help break records on the school leader board for top 10 of all time performances in the high school. These athletes were Berklee Nore, Emersyn Carmichael and Ansley O’Brien on the girls 4x400m relay team helping secure a spot of 4th all time for the Belle Fourche High School top 10 of all time leader board.
The top performances for the Belle Fourche Middle Schoolers at the Middle School Black Hills Conference Invite were as follows:
For the 7th grade boys, in the 100 meter dash Kellen Williams placed 1st and Gunner Walding placed 6th, in the 200 meter dash Kellen Williams placed 1st and Austin Ramirez placed 5th, in the 800 meter run Maddox Clarkson placed 2nd and Keaton Davis placed 9th, in the 1600 meter run Keaton Davis placed 8th, and in high jump Maddox Clarkson placed 2nd.
For the 8th grade boys, in the 100 meter dash Ben Raba placed 8th, in the 800 meter run Brux Hartman placed 4th and in the 1600 meter run Brux placed 2nd, in the 4x100m relay the team of Cole Mailloux, Devyn Perschbacher, Zane Baker and Bradly Dreiske placed 3rd, in the 4x200m relay the team of Oliver Carson, Oaklee Atkins, Kasen Lang and Devyn Perschbacher placed 8th, in the 4x400m relay the team of Ben Raba, Cole Mailloux, Blaine Moke and Bradly Dreiske placed 2nd, in shot put Ben Raba placed 3rd, in discus Kasen Lang placed 2nd, in high jump Max Coyle placed 2nd, Elijah Beatson placed 3rd and Zane Baker placed 5th, in Long Jump Blaine Moke placed 6th and Elijah Beatson placed 8th, in triple jump Elijah Beatson placed 4th, Cole Mailloux placed 7th and Max Coyle placed 9th.
For the 7th grade girls, in the 100 meter dash Emersyn Carmichael placed 4th, in the 200 meter dash AnnaBelle Dighton placed 7th, in the 400 meter dash Emersyn Carmichael placed 3rd, in the 1600 meter run Aubyn Hartman placed 2nd, in the 200 meter hurdles Bryn Coyle placed 4th, the 4x200m relay team of Ruth Moore, Amelia Strickland, Jacey Nash and Malaya Rodriguez placed 7th, in shot put Malaya Rodriguez placed 9th, in high jump AnnaBelle Dighton placed 5th, and Charlie Huston and Emersyn Carmichael placed 9th, in long jump Emersyn Carmichael placed 2nd, AnnaBelle Dighton placed 5th, and Charlie Huston placed 9th.
For the 8th grade girls, in the 100 meter dash Skylar Randolph placed 1st, Gracelynn Gaffoglio placed 7th and Lochlin Tibbs placed 10th, in the 200 meter dash Gracelynn Gaffolgio placed 5th and Lochlin Tibbs placed 6th, in the 400 meter dash Grace Long placed 2nd, Skylar Randolph placed 3rd and Natalie Lei placed 5th, in the 800 meter run Elise Roberts placed 2nd, in the 1600 meter run Isabela Torberson placed 3rd, Layla Drieling placed 4th and Piper Curran placed 5th, in the 4x100m relay the team of Irie McQueen, Kylie Bidwell, Skylar Randolph and Grace Long placed 2nd, in the 4x800m relay the team of Aubyn Hartman, Piper Curran, Isabela Torberson and Layla Drieling placed 1st, in shot put Charlie Merjil placed 2nd, in discus Charlie Merjil placed 3rd and Layla Drieling placed 5th.
