Good Food and Gratitude at Wells Plumbing

Belle Fourche News Other Local News

BELLE FOURCHE—For the past six years, Wells Plumbing and Farm Supply has invited the public into the store for a special day of appreciation. This year, the event was held on May 15.

We try to do it once a year, just to tell all of our customers thank you and we appreciate them, and we appreciate the community,” explained owner Bill Jewett. We invite EMS, we invite the city workers and the Chamber. Not everybody can make it, but if they can, we’re sure here!”

A lot of planning and preparation goes into the event. Employees make sure there is something for everyone and they spend time cooking pulled pork, mac and cheese, baked beans, and pasta salad. Plus, Lynns Dakotamart brings in fried chicken and potato wedges. There is also a variety of drinks on hand.

The appreciation day is scheduled to include the lunch hour to encourage people to stop in without taking extra time off. Well, that way, if somebody takes a lunch break, they can stop by and just say hi and grab a quick bite to eat,” said Jewett.

Wells Plumbing and Farm Supply has been in the Belle Fourche area since 1948, when Jack Wells started the business. In 2019, Jewett took over the business. He has two partners, Brian Hammerbeck and Pat Hall. We just want to continue what Jack built here and we’ve grown a bit, but Jack set the foundation, and he was always known for his customer service, and we want to continue that,” shared Jewett.

Jewett says they are very appreciative of their customers and thankful for the community. They try to give back whenever they can. We want to support our community and we want to give back, and it’s all about the kids in our opinion,” explained Jewett. So, anything for the kids, we try to get behind—whether it’s theater or football or 4-H or whatever, it doesn’t matter!”

Stop by and check out this business if you havent had a chance to do so yet. They have something for everyone! Jewett shared, Were very thankful we live in such a wonderful community!”
