Track and Field Continues to Advance Leader Board Athletes Despite Weather Challenges

BELLE FOURCHE—On Tuesday, April 14th, the high school track and field team Bronc throwers competed in Spearfish’s JV invite against Douglas, Hill City, Hot Springs, Oelrichs, Lead-Deadwood, Rapid City Central, Rapid City Stevens, Sturgis Brown and Spearfish.

On the boy’s side, 85 competitors competed in shot put with the Broncs results as follows:

Junior Charlie Houck (7th place) with a throw of 36- 4, Senior Corbin Rowe with a throw of 31-08, Freshman Drew Coyle with a throw of 29-02, Freshman Ryder Roseland with a throw of 25-04.5, Sophomore Colt Humbracht with a throw of 24-09.5, Sophomore Evan Jackson with a throw of 24-03.5, Freshman Marcus Fetty with a throw of 21-07, and Freshman Greyson Silacci with a throw of 19-05.

In discus there were 94 competitors for the boys with Bronc results as follows:

Charlie Houck with a throw of 101, Corbin Rowe 92-04, Drew Coyle 85-03, Marcus Fetty 79-09, Colt Humbracht 72- 02, Ryder Roseland 69, Evan Jackson 67-09, and Greyson Silacci 52-04.

In javelin among 52 competitors, Corbin Rowe threw 81’ and Colt Humbracht threw 78-08’.

On the ladies’ side, in shot put there were 51 competitors with one Lady Bronc, Lucila Merjil throwing 20-03.5 feet. In discus there were 67 competitors with Lucila throwing 44-10 feet, and in javelin there were 61 competitors with two Lady Broncs throwers, Lucila Merjil throwing 38-04 and Mckenzie Rans throwing 45-02 feet.
