Belle Fourche News Other Local News

BELLE FOURCHE—The March Chamber Mixer was hosted by Highland Senior Solutions and the Belle Fourche Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, March 26.

Highland Senior Solutions took the opportunity to showcase to Chamber members all that they have to offer. So we are brand new to the Belle Fourche community, we just opened our Adult Day Services here December 15 of this year—we wanted to invite everybody in and show everyone our new space,” explained Karli Jewett, Director.

Part of the business highlights included tours of their recently opened Independent Living Cottages. We’re hosting here in our Adult Day Services Center and we also just recently opened our Independent Living Cottages right next door and so we’re taking people through tours over there and showing them what we have to offer for those,” said Jewett.

Highland Homes currently has four cottages and will eventually expand to offer 12 Independent Living Cottages. Those are rented out monthly,” shared Jewett. They include one meal per day, and there is a housekeeping and a laundry service every other week that we provide as well. All utilities, lawn care, snow removal and maintenance are included in that as well.”

The first two units opened in February and the second two units opened in March. They will be filled next week but we are starting on a waiting list for those interested,” said Jewett.

The Highland Adult Day Services Center is open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We focus on socialization, interaction, nutritious meals. We do exercise here daily as well, and then we also are able to provide personal care—so if anybody needs any assistance with bathing, things like that, we can offer that support as well,” explained Jewett.

Charcuterie, desserts and drinks were provided while Chamber members explored Highland Senior Solutions and networked with other Chamber members. We’re just really grateful for all the support that Belle Fourche has shown us so far,” expressed Jewett. Were happy to welcome everyone in!”

Around 6 p.m., Chamber Director Michaela Horn addressed the crowd. Thank you to Highland Senior Solutions and their staff for putting this on, this has been lovely! If you haven’t had a chance to meet Karli or take a tour through the cottages, I really suggest that you do.”

It was then time to do the Connect and Collect Drawing, with $400 up for grabs. With help from Chamber volunteer Mike Reade, this months business was chosen. New Generation was drawn, but no one from the business was present, so the money rolls over to the April drawing. The Connect and Collect Drawing is held every month. All the names of businesses that belong to the Chamber of Commerce are entered into the drawing. Someone from the business has to be present to claim the money. If no one is in attendance, the pot rolls over to the following Chamber Mixer.

The next Chamber Mixer is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Alley Fitness will be hosting the event.
