The Broncs wrestlers took 2 girls and 4 boys to the South Dakota State Championship held at the Denny Sandford Premier Center on February 26-28th
State qualifiers were AnnaBelle Dighton and Kyra Vandenberg for the girls and Caden Swaney, Cooper Conry, Kolby Tibbs and Riley Dighton for the boys. Cooper and Kolby were beat out in the initial rounds.
Kyra Vandenberg went 4-1 and placed 3rd in the girls 100lb weight class at state with a 43-2 season record. Caden Swaney went 3-3 at the state tournament with a 6th place finish in the boys 106lb weight class and a season record of 37-16.
Riley Dighton went 2-2 at the state tournament with an 8th place finish in the 157lb weight class and a 42-8 season record.
Coach Cory expresses a season filled with highs and lows and gratitude toward the team, the managers, the coaching staff, parents, wrestling clubs and other clubs and organizations for the support during the season.
He is looking forward to the end of season awards banquet with a time and date to be determined.
