BELLE FOURCHE— A pop up tailgate party to launch a new product combined with good food, good friends and a good cause made for a great day on the afternoon of September 26 in the Lynn’s Dakotamart parking lot.

Cutting Edge Meat Market was on hand to offer a variety of grilled brat samples for everyone to try. “We are introducing a new product in our store, and it’s the Cutting Edge Meat Market out of Piedmont. They have made bratwurst for 25 years but now they’re really starting to expand out into restaurants, grocery stores, things like that. We were fortunate enough to have a tasting a couple weeks ago with them at one of our locations, and as a company, we decided to bring them on,” explained Jim Grapentine, Manager.  “We look at people—even like Piedmont, South Dakota—as local, that’s important to us.”

Employees from the store handed out different samples of products that you can buy locally in store. Onion hot dog buns, baked beans, coleslaw and potato salad were among some of the foods one could taste. “Then it rolled into, let’s have a few other things set up! Let’s grill some brats and hand them out for goodwill donations with all proceeds going to Belle Silver Lining,” said Grapentine.

Free will donation buckets were set up to allow for tailgaters to give what they could for the fun event and food. Belle Silver Lining was the recipient of all proceeds.

Lynn’s Dakotamart and Grapentine thought the community event would be a good opportunity to raise some money and help a local organization that may be in need of a little help. “Well, I see so much of it on social media or I hear people in the grocery store, that we have several organizations in our town that really need our support,” explained Grapentine. “Belle Silver Lining really stuck out in my mind, because I have a few friends that are on the board there and are talking about the need—the food pantry is in need—there are just so many different organizations that are in need of our help—I just chose Belle Silver Lining.”
