Beacon Readers:
We our still working out details on a collaboration effort for long term continuation of the paper.
All is still going in a positive direction, but like when the Beacon started, it takes more time than you anticipate.
We have been able to continue with an online edition the past two months and will continue to so as we are able The Beacon online publication can be viewed at www.bellefourchebeacon.com.
The next two weeks may be a “short vacation” from weekly editions.
The owner and publisher, was scheduled this week for a knee replacement surgery.
My old friend, the late George Mortimer who was the inspiration for my first ever visit to Belle Fourche stopped at my house on morning for a cup of coffee. I said, “George, how you doing?” His reply was, “Not worth a d***, getting old ain’t for sissies.”
My knee has instructed me on the meaning of that comment.
We will be restricted for travel and running around for some time, and at this point uncertain if will be able to perform our duties at the Beacon.
We will certainly try to keep everything going, but may need a couple weeks to get everything rolling.
Thank you again for your encouragement to keep the Beacon going!
Kindest Regards,
Doug Cole
