BELLE FOURCHE—A unique event happened over the Fourth of July holiday, in addition to celebrating America, Pasque Ladies Fashions was celebrating women by hosting a Fashion that Fits event from July 2 to July 5.

In partnership with FDJ, French Dressing Jeans, Pasque brought in over 100 pairs of jeans to help guide ladies to find the perfect jean and perfect fit. With the guidance of Customer Service Manager and jean-fitting expert, Amanda Stratford—who has been with FDJ for 10 years—they did just that!  “They sent her down here with 106 pairs of jeans from tall, short, skinny and wide, a few new styles in the stores to help with different sizing,” explained Michelle Evans, Owner.

This event is new to Belle Fourche, but is an annual tradition for French Dressing Jeans. “So every spring we do events with our retailers—they want to do a Fashion that Fits event. We bring a bunch of our different fits and fabrics to get the the retailer familiar with all the different things that we have. They can see something and be like, ‘Oh, I don’t think my customer is going to buy that’ and then we’ll bring it to them and then they do like it! So it kind of introduces them to the brand in a different way,” explained Stratford.

Stratford enjoys getting out of the office and meeting customers. She travelled to the area from Montreal, Canada. “Actually seeing the customers in your products is such an amazing thing to see because it gives so much more depth and meaning to the company. You see the women who love our brand and how their bodies are all different, there are so many different body types and yet there is a jean for them,” said Stratford. “They come in thinking, ‘Oh, you’re not gonna be able to fit me’ and then they leave with something that looks great on them, but they wouldn’t have thought so without the interaction—I love that part!”

The company has been generous in this endeavor. They gave a gift bag with every purchase and donated $1.00 for every pair of jeans that was tried on during the four day event. Evans said, “They have been fantastic, they sent us gift bags—that is the gift with purchase and we’re giving away one pair of jeans every single day, and then, for every pair of jeans that you try on, they give $1 to a cancer organization to help ladies win the battle of cancer!”

Women are the driving force behind FDJ and their choices. “So every time we do a fit event, $1 for every pair tried on goes to Look Good, Feel Better. And for every pair that we sell throughout the whole company, at the end of the year, there’s also a donation that goes to them as well,” explained Stratford. “We’re really close to that organization and it’s for women. We’re a company run by women—all women—so it means a lot to us!”

Evans said the whole experience has been a good one. “It’s a learning experience for us—not just for our customers—it’s for us to learn our customers, so it’s a win, win!
