Saturday, July 19th the Toby Doeden for Governor campaign made a stop in Belle Fourche at Grap’s Burgers & Brews. A respectable size group of area citizens were on hand to show support, hear the candidate, and were able to ask “face to face” questions. The Republican primary on June 2, 2026 will determine who represents the party in the November 26 election. (Inset: Toby’s Tour bus.) Beacon Photos

Doeden Works to be the State’s next Governor

Belle Fourche News State News

Toby Doeden’s campaign stop Saturday in Belle Fourche was just one of his “Visit every County in South Dakota” stops and talk to its people campaign.

Doeden’s entry into the campaign is a result of his frustration over recent years of seeing the state budget grow and little to show for it other than high paying salaries for state government employees at the top.

He pledges to take a page out of President Trump’s book and create a South Dakota version of DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) to streamline and eliminate waste; improve services, and to direct more local control.

Another main theme is to eliminate the property tax burden on our state’s citizens.

Doeden who participated and walked in the 2025 Black Hills Roundup Parade stated he had heard Belle had a great July 4th Holiday parade, but no one told him about the accompanying water fight. Pledged on next year’s parade if returning he will come in a swimming suit and would be prepared to engage in the water fight.
