Students Represent Newell at State FFA Convention

NEWELL—Students from Newell School District came back from the 96th State FFA Convention with several awards. The convention was held in Brookings from April 18-20 to celebrate the accomplishments of South Dakota’s 6,347 FFA members and 111 FFA chapters. The three days were “filled with achievement, inspiration, and a passion for agriculture.”

Awards are listed below.

Livestock Evaluation: Natalie Yates, Bristol Bachman

Horse Evaluation: Kate High, Sorley Franklin, Kendra Johnson, Kimberly Johnson

Poultry Evaluation: Jessica Raisanen, Kiley Link

Ag Mechanics: Rowdy Franklin, Orrin Youngberg, Justin Yates, Joe Eaton

Floriculture: Shannon Yates

Senior Kimberly Johnson also received her State Degree.
