Bronc Wrestlers At Hettinger Tourney

The Broncs traveled to Hettinger, ND for a two day tournament January 5th and 6th. They saw some new competition with the boys team placing 6th and the Lady Broncs placing 4th. North Dakota runs slightly different weight classes than South Dakota as well as giving the opportunity for Varsity wrestlers who were beat out on day one of pool wrestling to move to the JV bracket on day 2.

The Varsity team had the following placers; Teedin Humble placed 12th at 107 pounds, Logan Tyndall placed 8th at 114 pounds, Toarin Humble placed 8th at 121 pounds, Garet Huston placed 4th at 127 pounds, Koby Bowden placed 8th at 1233 pounds, Riley Dighton placed 5th at 139 pounds, Peyton Alexander placed 6th at 152 pounds, Owyn Schreder placed 6th and 160 pounds, Zach Tonsager placed 12th at 172 pounds, Trigg Olson placed 5th at 189 pounds, and Lucas Tonsager placed 3rd at 215 pounds.

The JV team, had the following placers; Caden Swaney placed 2nd at 107 pounds, Koby Bowden placed 2nd at 127 pounds, Clifford Torberson placed 4th at 139 pounds, Jory Olson placed 2nd at 160 pounds, Spencer Bush placed 3rd at 172 pounds, Zach Tonsager placed 4th at 172 pounds, Trigg Olson placed 1st at 189 pounds, and Mason Nehl went 1-1 in exhibition matches.

The Lady Broncs had four competitors take the mats with Kyra Vandenburg placing 1st at 100 pounds, Lia Mundt placing 3rd at 106 pounds, Alexa Swaney placing 1st at 130 pounds, and Olivia Nehl placing 1st at 155 pounds.

The Broncs will compete in a dual in Sturgis at 5:30 pm on Thursday January 11th. They will compete in the Black Hills Conference Invite in Hot Springs on Saturday January 11th at 10am and will travel to Chadron, NE for a two day tournament on January 19th and 20th.
