NEWELL-Newell Museum Curator Linda Velder received a mini-grant from First Interstate Bank in Belle Fourche recently. The $400 grant will go toward the restoration of Phase 11 of Hope Cemetery. Velder will use the grant money to go toward the purchase of new steel alphabet lettering to identify the blocks at the cemetery. The present block signs are old and in disrepair from hail, mowers and trimmers, and weathering.
The first phase donation was awarded in 2021 for the erection of the all-weather directory.
The Newell Community also received a mini-grant for Post Prom activities.
