BELLE FOURCHE—Wareing Belle Fourche directed its spotlight onto its customers on the afternoon of September 25 to celebrate and thank them and the community for supporting the business. The parking lot was turned into a picnic area with tables, chairs, grills and a whole lot of food as employees served the public during a day of appreciation.
Everyone in the area was invited to enjoy hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, cookies and drinks. The day was an opportunity for the business to give back to the local area. “We just want to say, hey, thanks for coming in. Thanks for—whether it’s service, parts, sales, whatever it is—thank you for helping us be a successful business! We want them to know we are here,” explained Josh Quigley, general manager.
Throughout the event, drawings were held for door prizes. The business made the decision to buy local for the giveaway items. “I went to local businesses and bought a bunch of stuff to give away—we got as much local stuff as we could here for the food and everything… burgers and stuff, I got right there at Lueders,” shared Quigley.
The lucky winners went home with more than just a full stomach. Prizes included a handful of $50 gift cards from local businesses like the Hair Gallery, Weather Hat Company, Rancho Los Agaves and The Homestead Store, plus Wareing oil changes and, for the grand prize at the end of the day, a 65-inch TV. “The only thing I couldn’t get local was that TV—I’m gonna go to different businesses all the time when we do this again,” shared Quigley.
Wareing Belle Fourche is working hard to get involved in the community. “Absolutely, I want to really get involved with the schools too. We are looking to do whatever we can do,” said Quigley. “We have to have each other’s back. I mean, I can’t survive without you, and we do employ a lot of people here, and are always hiring. So as we grow, which we are growing… we’ll need more people and we’ll create more jobs,” explained Quigley.
The event provided the opportunity to get to know the new general manager Josh Quigley. He has been in his position since April of this year. He has spent many years in the Black Hills area and is familiar with Belle Fourche. You can find him at the Belle Fourche store every day except Saturdays. He brings with him 28 years in the car business. He and his wife, McKenzie, have three children—a 22-year-old daughter and two sons, a senior and a freshman in high school.
Paul Wareing purchased the dealership five years ago from Scott Peterson of Scott Peterson Motors. They employ around 42 people in the area. “We do a lot of hiring here. I try to hire locally and I like to move people up from within,” explained Quigley. “I’m always looking for good people and we have a lot of people who’ve been here a long time—a lot of good people.”
The dealership has an eye on the future and is looking for ways to grow. “Right now I got to get this going perfect, and then I can grow it,” said Quigley.
As the dealership focuses on growing and becomes more involved in the community, Quigley encourages people to stop in and give Wareing Belle Fourche a try. “Just give us a shot first. You know, just try us. You don’t have to trust me—just try me. I’ll do my very best for you to put something together,” he said.
