Agriculture is an important part of the Belle Fourche community and surrounding region, and this September, the public will have an opportunity to learn more about the people, businesses, equipment and resources that make agriculture such an important part of our area.
Ag Day will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Belle Fourche Roundup Grounds. The event is open to the public and is designed to bring together ranchers, agricultural producers, families, businesses, organizations and community members for an afternoon of education, networking, activities and fun.
Whether you currently work in agriculture, are looking for resources to expand your operation, are interested in learning more about ranching, or simply want an afternoon of family-friendly activities, Ag Day will have something to offer.
Throughout the event, attendees can expect to find agriculture education booths, shopping vendors, agricultural equipment displays and opportunities to connect with businesses and organizations serving the agriculture industry.
A Full Afternoon of Activities
The afternoon will be divided into several activities and sessions, giving attendees plenty of opportunities to participate. The event will begin from 1 to 2 p.m. with welcome and greetings, giving attendees a chance to arrive, get acquainted with the event and begin exploring what Ag Day has to offer.
From 2 to 3 p.m., the focus will turn to Vendor Power Hour and the Kid Zone. Attendees are encouraged to visit the vendor booths, learn about the products and services available in the agriculture community and complete an event punch card. Once completed, the punch card will enter attendees into a drawing for a prize.
The Kid Zone will remain open throughout the entire event from 1 to 6 p.m., providing activities for younger attendees. A special attraction during the day will be Wandering Wolf Ranch goats from 1PM-3PM, giving children and families an opportunity to meet and pet the goats. Other kid zone fun includes: “touch a truck” with a semi and cattle pot on display, tractor equipment, dinosaur experience, and a giant sand pile so bring the kids’ dirt toys!
From 3 to 4 p.m., attendees will be invited into the main arena for Ag Olympics. Teams can enter for free and compete in a variety of easy and entertaining agriculture-themed games. Activities will include games such as Donkey Toss and a Stick Horse Race, with prizes available for winning team. Reach out to the Chamber of Commerce to enter your team.
The Ag Olympics are intended to be fun and approachable, so participants do not need to be professional athletes—or even agricultural experts—to join in. It is simply an opportunity to have some fun, enjoy a little friendly competition and celebrate agriculture in a different way.
A Place to Connect
From 4 to 5 p.m., Ag Day will shift its focus toward mixers, meetings and presentations.
Local organizations, agricultural groups, businesses and other community groups are encouraged to use this time as an opportunity to gather their members in one location. Ag Day provides a unique setting for organizations to host a mixer, meeting or networking opportunity while also connecting with other people and businesses attending the event.
There will also be scheduled presentations throughout this portion of the afternoon, providing attendees with information that can be useful to agricultural producers and families.
One scheduled presentation will be from Lynn Jackson Attorneys, who will discuss estate planning. Presentations such as this are intended to provide practical information and resources that can help agricultural families plan for the future.
Ending the Day With Prizes
The final hour, from 5 to 6 p.m., will feature closing activities and prize giveaways.
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the door prize drawings, a 50/50 drawing and the completed punch card drawing. Those who have spent the afternoon visiting vendors and completing their punch cards will have a chance to win one of the event prizes.
Something for Everyone
Ag Day is intended to be more than just another community event. It is an opportunity to bring agriculture to the forefront and help connect the public with the people and businesses who support the industry.
For current ranchers and agricultural producers, the event provides an opportunity to discover new resources, meet potential business partners and learn about services that may help broaden or improve their operations.
For those who are not directly involved in agriculture, Ag Day offers an opportunity to learn more about ranching and agriculture in the region, meet local agricultural businesses and organizations, see equipment and displays, and gain a better understanding of the industry that plays such an important role in our community.
Families are also encouraged to attend and enjoy the Kid Zone, meet the Wandering Wolf Ranch goats, participate in the Ag Olympics and explore the various booths and displays throughout the Roundup Grounds.
With education, networking, vendors, equipment, family activities, presentations, games and prizes all included, Ag Day is designed to have something for everyone.
