BELLE FOURCHE—Wareing Motors held its first Trunk-or-Treat event on Thursday, October 29. The dealership was transformed into Jurassic Park with elaborate decorations on the building and a large inflatable trick-or-treat booth. Many of the employees were dressed up in dinosaur costumes and posed for pictures with all the little ones.

As you neared the business, a loud, eerie voice came over the loudspeakers: “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Jurassic Park. On behalf of Wareing Motors, we are pleased to welcome you to an extraordinary prehistoric adventure. Please remain on designated pathways at all times. Do not approach the dinosaurs.” The business created a warm, welcoming and fun environment for all coming to participate.

After passing through the Wareing Motors exhibit, it was time to move on to the rest of the spookily decorated trunks! There were an additional 15 booths to explore and gather treats. Some were scary, some were sweet, but they were all well thought out displays. Frontier Glass donated candy for the event.

Wareing Motors offered a $500 prize package for the best-decorated trunk. The winner was The Plumber of the Black Hills. They received a Solo Stove and a s’mores kit to go along with it.

For the hungry folks, the Loud American of Sturgis had their food truck on-site. They were cooking up their delicious steak tips.

There was a constant stream of trick-or-treaters passing through the party. Wareing Motors’ Mckenzie Quigley was in charge of putting the event together and shared, “It was a really good turnout—for our first time doing it, I thought it went remarkably well, and it was a lot of fun!”

By the end of the event, booths were running low on candy and everyone was ready for the next spooky adventure around the Halloween holiday in Belle Fourche.
