Senior Jazlyn Olson of Belle Fourche High School committed to Black Hills State University on Wednesday, January 28th, 2026. Jaz received a scholarship to play soccer and further her education where she is considering a major in Political Science with hopes to attend law school in the future.

She also hopes to pursue parliamentarian work along the way.

Jaz has been playing soccer since she was 5 years old. In her 13 year career she has been a member of multiple school and club teams, improving her skills and commitment to the sport along the way.

She expresses it is difficult to pick one favorite soccer memory, however, states that the memory of her first ever indoor soccer tournament comes to mind as one near and dear to her. Jaz says her team lost the game, but it was such a new and fun experience for her, she had “the biggest grin on her face”.

Advice for up and coming players that Jaz would offer is, “To not let other people convince you you are too loud, too much, or too intense of a player. People hate to see true passion in a sport and it means you are doing something right!”

Jazlyn is looking forward to being a Yellowjacket!
