Turkey Bingo Draws a Big Crowd

VALE—The public came out in droves to support the annual Vale Community Clubs Turkey Bingo on the evening of November 12. It’s our annual Turkey Bingo and the turkeys are definitely an incentive—come out and try to win—its usually a pretty good turnout but this was a really great turnout! It was more than last year, so that’s good to see,” explained Angie Hanson, Vale Community Club President.

Bingo caller and Community Club member Dale Grant added, If you put all the people together from the last three bingos, you still wouldnt have this many people!”

The evening is a fundraiser for the club but it is also a chance for the Vale community and surrounding areas to come together for an evening of fun, fellowship, laughter and perhaps a little luck! Ten games of bingo were played, with each round being a unique game of chance. From regular bingo to six-pack, picture frame and of course the always fun blackout bingo!

Each round was a new chance to win the pot. Everyone purchased their game cards for $1 each per round. Half of the pot goes to the Community Club and the other half goes to the bingo winner. The average payout was around $50 per game.

The Community Club has plans for the money raised. We use it to pay for snacks, we use it for bills—to keep the building optimal and everything like that and for other activities as well,” said Hanson.

Throughout the evening winners were drawn for five turkeys. The Club purchased the turkeys to give away. Lucky winners of the turkeys this year were Jaden Adams, Telena Allen, Robbi Longbrake, Marilyn Sheeler and Steve Silvernagle.

Halfway through the evening there was an intermission where everyone in attendance was treated to snacks and drinks. The food line was long but it moved fairly fast. Club members served the crowd. There are about 50 members in the Club, although they are not all active.

This was the last bingo gathering for a while. We take a break in the wintertime and we’ll come back in April,” said Hanson.

Next up for the Community Club will be the Ag Fair on January 7, 2026. The Ag Fair is coming up and that’s when vendors and businesses that are related to agriculture come and give out information and we have a free meal for everyone,” said Hanson.

Everyone is welcome to come to any and all of the Vale Community Clubs events!

We love having everybody come to any of our events—if you hear about it going on at the Hall, come on over! We get people from Newell, Nisland, Belle and Sturgis—we try to just reach out to any of the surrounding communities in the Black Hills—we just like holding events and having fun,” shared Hanson.
