BELLE FOURCHE—Sometimes, when something is meant to be, everything seems to fall in place at the right time. This is what happened when Hannah Wolf, owner of Elizabeth Ann’s Bridal, decided to open a new store in Belle Fourche.
About the same time Wolf was looking for a change from the corporate world, her grandma, Betty Wolf, owner of Love That Shoppe Antiques, informed her that she was thinking of downsizing her business. And almost like a sign, Wolf knew what she was going to do! “I just thought this would be the perfect building—I mean, I grew up in this building! We closed off the wall and then we just left this side mine,” she explained. “I loved it! It was just perfect timing!”
A Belle Fourche native, born and raised, Wolf left after high school graduation and went off to college. “I went to school in London, I lived over in Europe for three years and I did Fashion Business,” said Wolf. “And then during COVID, I worked at a bridal store in Fargo for three years and I loved it!”
Wolf moved back to the area in June and is happy to return. “It is amazing, I love it! We moved from North Carolina, so being home is like a breath of fresh air!”
Finding her passion in Fargo and bringing it to Belle Fourche in the building she grew up in, all the while sharing it with her family and friends, makes for an exciting future. “I want to bring in that vintage, eclectic feel from her (grandma) antique shop. I love her store and it’s always been a huge part of my childhood,” said Wolf. “It makes this just feel so special!”
For now, Wolf is running the store on her own, with the help of her husband, Zach Kuhn. “My husband is in the background operations of this—he’s my electrician and plumber and fixer-upper when I need it,” she explained.
Elizabeth Ann’s Bridal had its Grand Opening on the evening of October 16. Turnout was grand, and support for the new business seems strong. Those who came to the opening were treated to drinks from Roaming Refreshments and charcuterie cups and desserts by Felicia Cherveny. Western Edge Textiles had a pop-up shop, and Weather Hat Company created a display of wedding hats.
Regular store hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred. For those looking for an extra-special experience, you may be interested in booking a VIP appointment and get a private room, champagne, snacks and more. The store carries Essence of Australia gowns.
