BELLE FOURCHE—Another new building is on its way up in Belle Fourche! On the corner where Highway 34 and Highway 85 meet, next to Hardee’s, the process of becoming a new home for NBS Factoring, LLC is underway.
Doug and Erica Douglas, owners, broke ground several weeks ago and hope to have the building up by year’s end. The whole project—interior and landscaping—should be finished by spring of 2026 according to Erica.
The land was purchased five years ago, so plans for the area have been in the works for some time. “We are building a versatile building that can accommodate many of our current needs. Doug is a talented mechanic and enjoys working on equipment, so we went with a shop with two bays to accommodate his efforts,” explained Erica. “Attached to this we will have a new office for NBS Factoring where we can meet with our current clients, new clients, and offer more accessibility than we have in the past. There is also another space that we are currently planning on renting out that will be on the East most side. We picture a professional to rent this space (not retail).”
Doug and Erica bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience. They started NBS Factoring, LLC in 2018, and have built their clientele to include over 1000 trucking companies across the United States. “Truck drivers are some of the hardest working, most unrecognized people our economy has. Belle is home to a great number of trucking operations and with the intersections of 34/85 and 79/85 we have received recognition as a business from the trucking community in positive ways since 2018 here in Belle,” said Erica. “This building with added signage and accessibility, we hope will increase our footprint in the trucking world.”
Being a truck dispatcher since 2011, Erica has gotten to know the ins and outs of the trucking business. She describes her husband, Doug, as the smartest man she has ever met. “He has made NBS boom over the last three years as he has gotten involved more and more and as I have been raising the kids and pursuing other interests,” she shared. “We help people, plain and simple. Most factoring companies are owned by banks and the day-to-day decisions are made by people who have never been in a truck. Doug and I have been over-the-road, we’ve had break downs in desolate country, and we have even Cowboy’d through the backroads a time or two. Our drivers feel a kinship talking with and trusting real blue-collar hard-working people.”
The duo and NBS Factoring, LLC feels really lucky to have gotten the corner highway location. “It was expensive but I felt lucky to get such a hot spot,” said Erica.
As the building gets finished and the business expands, the new build will most likely add additional jobs to the area. “We take pride in ownership and we have a sharp looking building going up,” explained Erica. “Thank you to Jay Cordell at Pioneer Bank for everything he does to make our business endeavors come to fruition and thank you to the trucking community in Belle Fourche for all the support over the years. We are doing something good here!”
