The Beacon ran a short piece end of June marking seven years of publication.
We are making changes that will help to ensure the Beacon continues publication.
Our heartfelt thanks to the several supporters/readers of the Beacon who made contributions ranging from $250 to $1,000 to keep the publication going. They provided about one half of what was needed.
Like any business, when ends don’t meet you work to cut expenses and raise income.
Gaining “legal” status and the publication of City, County, and School required public notices will be a welcome plus and with a plan to cut back on cost of “in Belle Fourche” deliveries.
In lieu of paying the post office for deliveries we will provide papers throughout the community in convenient places where the Beacon will be available for pickup by the readers. This will also eliminate redundant deliveries where currently some people receive copies at their home, Post Office boxes, and places of business.
In addition to online access at www.bellefourchebeacon.com printed copies may be picked up at Lueders Grocery, Lynn’s Dakota Mart, Print Mark-et. and the Belle Fourche Chamber to those readers who wish to read a hard copy. We also have a person interested in doing home delivery.
The Beacon is working with the “Bring Back Belle” aka “Downtown Belle Fourche” with the intent of becoming a non profit to continue publication of the Beacon long after this grey haired old publisher is retired.
