For the 2nd year in a row, the Belle Fourche Middle School chess club won the 1st place team trophy at the State Scholastic Chess Championship. Thanks to Purple Pride, Mr. Esmay was able to take eight kids to the tournament held in Sioux Falls this year. The tournament drew around 125 players from around the state. Kasey Dobesh, Jaxon Kirksey, Drew Coyle, & Turner Williams all received a medal for winning over half their games.
