Annita Jeraine Brunner was born December 16, 1938 in Belle Fourche.  She was the daughter of Leo and Rosie (Elenberger) Brunner.  Annita grew up in the Vale area, where she also attended school.  She was united in marriage to Arthur Persche on June 8, 1956.  To this union three children were born: Doug, Michael, and Vicky.  Following their marriage, Annita and Arthur farmed for many years in the Horse Creek area.  Annita was a meticulous house cleaner, and that went for her car as well.  She was a devoted mother who worked hard to provide for her children, and she was very active attending 4H meetings, FFA meetings, and other activities with her kids.  She was known as the “Pie Lady” in the Newell area due to the excellent pies she made when she worked in the Newell restaurants.  She also was part of the various ladies groups in Newell, Vale, and Nisland.

Arthur died suddenly on May 5, 1999.  Shortly after, Annita moved into Belle Fourche, where she would live her remaining years.  For seven years she lived at Belle Estate; for 3 years at Judy’s Assisted Living Center; and for the past several months she has been a resident at Rolling Hills.

Annita is survived by her children: Vicky (Mark) Thiel of Belle Fourche, Doug (Jan) Persche of Belle Fourche, Michael (Brenda Snyder) Persche of Belle Fourche; 6 grandchildren: Kyle Persche, Trent (Erin) Persche, Travis Persche, Trevor (Alie) Thiel, Kerbi (Ryan) Bowden, Tyler (Britta) Thiel; and 7 great grandchildren: Kayde, Hadley, Rance, Koby, Odessa, Bristol, and Bryer.  She is also survived by Tanya Pierce and her son Christopher of Spearfish, whom she was very close to.
