Henry’s Books is thrilled to announce “Writer’s Night,” a special event dedicated to showcasing the extraordinary creativity of local writers and songwriters that benefits the crowdfunding efforts for Henry’s Books.
The event will take place on Sunday, April 7, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at The Matthews Opera House located at 612 N Main St, Spearfish, SD 57783.
“Writer’s Night” promises to be an event filled with literary inspiration and musical entertainment as writers and songwriters from the community take the stage to share their original works. From short stories and prose to poems and songs, attendees will be treated to a variety of creative expressions.
“This event is a continuation of our crowdfunding efforts—we hope to elevate local talent and give the community the opportunity to support this unique project,” says Elizabeth Mattson, owner of Henry’s Books.
“During our first phase of crowdfunding efforts, we learned just how impactful it can be to simply ask someone ‘What are you reading right now?’
With each conversation we have, the more we solidify the overwhelming need for a bookstore here in Spearfish.”
In addition to the captivating performances, attendees will have the chance to participate in raffle drawings featuring literary-themed items, specialty items from local businesses, and signed books by both local and nationally recognized authors. In addition to the $20 admission, a cash bar will be available, and raffle tickets can be purchased on-site.
