The Belle Fourche School District will soon have a new member of administration.
The school board approved an employment contract and offer, slated to run from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2026, for R. Orion Thompson during its Jan. 13 special meeting.
Superintendent Dr. Steve Willard has been with the school district since 1979, serving as a teacher, principal, and superintendent. Willard has been a member of the district’s administration for 22 years and superintendent since 2008.
During its Oct. 9, 2023, meeting, the school board approved Willard’s notice of voluntary early retirement following the conclusion of the 2023-2024 school year.
