High School Golf Season Ends

The high school boys golf season came to an end with the team finishing in 8th place out of 14 teams at the state tournament.

Aiden Voyles finished 12th with a two-day total score of 159, Isaac Voyles shot a 171, Rexton Audiss 181 Silas Carson 195 and Jet Jensen 197.

This year’s team captains played a large role in getting the team qualified for state.

Captains Rexton Audiss and Adin Voyles, both seniors spent a lot of time on the course this last summer and tried to keep the others also playing.

Rexton has played HS golf the last 4 years and coach Burr said he will really miss his humor and good nature.

Aiden who also shared MVP with Isaac Voyles for the Broncs, has played in the #1 spot the last 3 years is going to be hard to replace. Aiden finished 13th at conferences, 3rd at regions and 12 at the state championships.

Harley Rivera also a senior, who will also be hard to replace played the 6 spot.

Juniors Isaac Voyles and Jet Jensen will have big shoes to fill for next season.

Isaac shot a personal best 76 the first day of the state tournament and will have to fill #1 spot for next season.

Freshman Silas Carson who earned Most Improved for the Broncs, played the 5 spot this season and will be fun to watch over the next couple of seasons. Silas shot a personal best 88 at the regions and gained lots of experience for the next couple seasons.

The team finished 4th at conference and 2 at the regions.

The JV group, who will have to help fill some holes for next season includes Sophomore Carter Lyons and Merick McNeese. 8th grader Kavin Tope and 7th grader Saxton Stiefuater.

The JV played in the Belle Cup, Conference and Douglas tournaments this season.

They worked hard and gained lots of experience.
