NEWELL—Breakfast for supper with pancakes, eggs and sausage, topped with whipped cream and a variety of syrups for the hot cakes? Yes please! The men of the Newell Christian Fellowship Church served up a Pancake Supper on Saturday, March 7.
The men were all volunteering for a good cause—fundraising. “We are going to use the money raised to finish the hall here,” said David Krcelic, church member.
Not only did this group of hard-working men cook all of the food, but they greeted everyone at the door, showed each person to his or her seat and waited on each hungry guest. “I’m just here to say hello to people and get you to a table, so come on in,” explained Krcelic.
After guests were ushered to their seats, Krcelic asked, “What would you like to drink?” He quickly returned with drinks and took food orders. Within a few minutes, hot food was brought out by the server—Danny made sure everything was on the table. In the meantime, Krcelic stopped by to tell a few jokes—the evening was filled with laughter! With good food and plenty of laughs, the night was enjoyed by all.
The Newell Christian Fellowship community has been working to finish a Community Hall located right next to the church at 306 4th Street in Newell.
Milk, juice, water and coffee were also served, and the meal was provided for a free will donation.
