BELLE FOURCHE—Birthdays are always a reason to celebrate and this week at Crossroads Diner, two of their own had birthdays and so of course, they invited the public to share in the special occasion on Sunday, February 1.

General Manager Ember Kleinhans turned 28 and the omelet guy, Clint Millage, turned 50 and together they celebrated the momentous occasions at the cafe. We are at work anyway and we are already here and seeing everybody, so we might as well share it with them and share cake and ice cream with everybody,” explained Kleinhans.

The Crossroads, located in the Mid-America Travel Plaza, offers a breakfast/lunch style buffet, drink included, every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. On this special day, they added a few extra treats to the buffet. Kleinhans said, So today we just put some extra stuff out, like the cake and ice cream is included and we put out fried chicken and some lunch stuff—we just kind of amped it up a little bit!”

One of the unique items offered on this weekly buffet includes made to order omelets. You can order an omelet any way you want it and Millage will cook it up for you right on the spot, hot and fresh—even on his birthday! So we just wanted to celebrate with everybody—we made cake and we bought ice cream to share with everybody,” said Kleinhans. Cake and ice cream was free and offered to everyone throughout the day.

Beginning in the new year, the diner has started offering the option of ordering off the menu during the buffet so everyone gets the opportunity to order and enjoy whatever they want!

With Valentines Day right around the corner, Crossroads staff is busy planning for the special occasion. The diner is already decorated with red and pink hearts, streamers and balloons for the holiday.

Adding to the Valentines Day mood, they are offering lovely specials. We have a Sweetheart Special coming up for Valentines Day! Were doing prime rib, ribeye steaks and sirloin steaks—and its all inclusive,” explained Kleinhans. This will be all inclusive dinners for two! So if you want to bring your love, date or even a friend to celebrate the day, it is recommended you call ahead and reserve your spot to make sure you get a table.
