On Thursday, January 15th, the Broncs wrestling teams competed in a quadrangular hosted by the Spearfish Spartans.
Teams included the Douglas Patriots, Spearfish Spartans and Rapid City Central Cobblers. The Broncs beat the Patriots and came up short on team points against the Spartans and the Cobblers.
On Saturday, January 17th, the Broncs competed in the Black Hills Conference tournament hosted by Spearfish this year.
The boys had 3 open weight classes leaving them short in points to defend their title as conference champions, however they did pull off a 3rd place finish beating out rivals, the Spearfish Spartans, by just half a point. In the 106lb weight class Caden Swaney placed 2nd, Jace Olson competed at 113lbs, Dylan Park competed at 120lbs, at 126lbs Cooper Conry placed 2nd, Preston Lake competed at132lb, at 138lbs Garet Huston placed 3rd, at 150lbs Kolby Tibbs placed 4th, at 165lbs Koby Bowden placed 3rd, at 215lbs Dillon Streeter placed 4th and earning Black Hills Conference Champions for the boys were Riley Dighton at 157lbs and at Heavyweight Luke Tonsager.
The Lady Broncs had 4 wrestlers compete. Charlie Huston earned a 4th place finish at 105lbs, and Lia Mundt earned a 3rd place finish at 115lbs. The Lady Broncs had two Black Hills Conference Champions, Kyra Vandenberg at 100lbs and AnnaBelle Dighton at 110lbs.
The Broncs teams compete next Saturday, January 24th in Chadron, Nebraska.
The home invitational is coming up next Friday and Saturday, January 30th and 31st at the Belle Fourche High School.
