BELLE FOURCHE—Beautifully decorated floats, western riders, queens, horses, first responders, vehicles and more are expected to take to the streets for the 106th Annual 4th of July Parade taking route through the City of Belle Fourche. Stars, Stripes and Spurs is the theme for this year’s parade.
On July 4, a B1 Bomber from Ellsworth Air Force Base will flyover Belle Fourche at 10:30 a.m. to signal the start of the parade.
Scott and Susan Peterson will serve as the 2025 Black Hills Roundup Parade Marshals and lead this year’s Parade. They will start at the corner of 13th Avenue and National Street and will continue Elkhart St., on to 10th St. and then making way to downtown Belle Fourche on State St. and one final turn on 8th St., finishing near Weyler Park.
According to Tessa Eaton, Parade Chairman, parade entries are on par with last year at about 135 entries to date.
The parade is free, so make sure you bring your lawn chairs, your family and friends and enjoy this 4th of July tradition! Curt Westland, Bryton Oedekoven, Jim Kallas and Jack Verry will be located throughout the parade route to announce the floats and keep the crowd entertained.
Some of the cash awards to be judged this year are the McClure Ranch Memorial Award of $100 to best depiction of this year’s parade theme, the Faye Kennedy Memorial Grand Marshal Award of $100 for the most patriotic entry, and the Eva Hanify Rail Memorial Award of $100 for the best representation of our Western heritage. Parade judges are Ashley Pearson and Emily Olson.
