The Belle Fourche Chamber welcomed Digits Nail Spa PLLC to the neighborhood at the ribbon cutting ceremony on the afternoon of May 29.
Owner Marybeth Runnels, RN created a festive atmosphere to kick off the celebration. “Today we have the ribbon cutting and some hors d’oeuvres and drinks! I do have a drawing that people can enter for a free, Get Out of Your Head-y Pedi, that is my luxury pedicure. It lasts an hour and a half and each month I change my theme. So the theme for May (and June) is Mamacita needs a Margarita,” she said. “For those that are coming in I’ve got little favors for everyone! Everyone gets to leave with a foot file and a coupon for 20% off—also, any new client gets 20% off just for being new!”
Runnels, a registered nurse, said that her nursing degree sets her business apart. “My nursing degree lets me provide services that can’t normally be done in a normal nail salon,” she explained. “I have one regular client that is homebound, she’s 95. Every four weeks I go and do a foot exam, trim her nails and that sort of thing.”
In addition to medical services, Runnels offers manicures and pedicures, including a 90-minute special “Get Out of Your Head-y Pedi,” acrylics, callus care and restorative treatments, nail art, and more. “One of the popular nail arts that they’re doing now is what’s called blooming gel,” explained Runnels. “And you use this gel that when you put the paint on it, it kind of spreads out. And there’s different designs you can do with the blooming gel…You can do flowers that way, you can do fireworks that way.”
Runnels said that she is also open to trying new trends and technologies. “I see a lot of things on social media that where they have new trends and new things like that. I am finding in our area, people kind of like the tried and true, you know. And I’m fine with that too. But if I see something that really intrigues me, that’s new, I will order something in and try it out and see if it’s something that I like and that I can offer.”
Digits Nail Spa PLLC is open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays through Fridays; 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays; and is closed Sundays and Mondays. One can book an appointment online at digitsnailspa.com and walk-ins are also welcome. “Appointments will always have priority. But if I’m here and I have my open schedule, if I have an opening between clients, people are always free to walk in. If I can fit them in, I will.”
Runnels looks forward to growing her business. “It’s really exciting. I know that some people are aware that I’m here, but I’d still like to get the word out more, and I think this is the best way to do that, and introduce what I do to some other businesses in the area, so that they are aware that I’m here and how we can mutually collaborate with each other and help each other.”
