Both Shannon Rolando, and Julie Adams appreciate the value of reading. They also enjoy helping others in the community. Shannon and Julie represent the Edward Jones financial services branch in Belle Fourche. Shannon is the Financial Advisor, and Julie is Branch Office Administrator.
A few weeks ago, Julie came up with an idea to encourage kids to read more by providing them with greater access to books. She started a book drive.
She began seeking donations for gently used and new books for elementary students. The donations have poured in.
Although this is the first year that the Belle Fourche Edward Jones branch has participated in the book drive, the event has been a success.
The 100 books collected will be donated to South Park Elementary School to be used as resources for teachers to restock their classroom reading materials and for other purposes too.
Shannon and Julie are pleased with the generous outcome of the Belle Fourche community.
