By Kandi Tonsager,  Tuesday April 29th the Belle Fourche High School Track and Field team hosted the Northern Hills Invite at home. Highlights on the day were:

Three of our Broncs improved their state rankings with season bests in individual events on Tuesday. Senior runner, Kashton Le LaCheur earned a season best in the 100 meter dash with a 1st place finish and a time of 11.47 securing his #24 ranking. Kash also earned a season best in the 200 meter with a 1stplace finish and a time of 23.44 securing a #20 state ranking. Sophomore distance runner, Lennon Clarkson earned a personal record in the 800 meter run with a 1st place finish and a time of 2:08.03 securing a #24 ranking. Junior thrower, Joseph McLennon earned a personal record in shot put with a throw of 44-02 for a 1st place finish and a ranking of #18. The 4×200 relay team of Kash Le LaCheur, Caeyn Howard, Tegan Fredrickson and Gavin Pearson had a season best time of 1:34.67 for a 1st place finish and a #12 ranking in SD Class A.

Oden Walding, Tegan Fredrickson, and Aidan Keil all earned PRs in the 100 meter dash, Tegan Fredrickson, Caeyn Howard, and Dylan Park had PRs in the 200 meter dash, Thad McKenney earned a PR in the 300 meter hurdles, Raif Parmeter and Dylan Park earned PRs in the 400 meter, Soren Kopp earned a PR in the 1600 meter run and Nathan Hudson and Clifford Torberson earned PRs in the 3200 meter run.

Throwers earning personal records in discus Tuesday were, Carter Goeders, Colt Humbracht and Evan Jackson, and in shot put were, Emmit Lipp and Gabe Raba.

For the Lady Broncs, Freshman Emma Nehl boasted Personal Records in 3 events including the 100 meter dash where she took 6th with a time of 14:02, the 200 meter dash where she took 8th with a time of 29.67 and the 400 meter where she took 5th with a time of 1:08. Sophomore, Kora Knapp, earned a season best time in the 200 meter dash, Sophomore Misty Drieling earned a season best in the 1600 with a 1st place finish and a time of 6:11.39 while freshman Abbey Clendening earned a PR and a 4th place finish with a time of 6:25.

The 4×100 team of Jaz Olson, Mikka Dunavant, Mya Nowowiejski and Kailey Nowowiejski continue to improve their top times and maintain their #4 ranking in the state with a season best of 50.77 Tuesday. These ladies continue to hold top places and times in their individual open races as well.

Lady throwers with notable markings Tuesday were Senior, Chloe Merjil who continues to top the leader boards in the school and rank high in the SD Class A throwing world, finishing her day with a PR in discuss with a throw of 92-0, her sister, Sophomore Lucila Merjil had a season best discuss throw as well as Sophomore Elliot Schreder.

The Bronc teams had many relay teams and individual qualifiers who will be competing in the prestigious Howard Wood Invite on May 2nd and 3rd in Sioux Falls. There will be a JV invite in Sturgis coming up on Tuesday May 6th as well.
