By Kandi Tonsanger, On Tuesday April 15th the middle school track and field team hosted their home invite.
Highlights in the top 10 for the middle school runners, in the 7th grade boys division, Bradly Dreiske in 5th & Blaine Moke in 9th earned top places in the 100 meter dash. In the 200 meter top placers were Bradly Dreiske in 2nd, Devin Perschblacher in 3rd, Zane Baker in 7th, Ben Raba in 9th, and Parker Martin in 10th. In the 400 meter top placers were Cole Mailloux in 5th and Ben Raba in 9th. Brux Hartman placed 7th in the 800 meter and 5th in the 1600 meter. In relays, the 7th grade boys had teams place in the sprint medley, the 4×100, 4×400 and 4×800.
7th grade boys jumpers earning top places were Max Coyle in 4th for long jump and 7th in high jump, and Elijah Beatson, Zane Baker and Brux Hartman all clearing 4’6” for 7th place finishes as well. 7th grade boys throwers earning top places were Kasen Lang taking 8th in discus and Ben Raba taking 3rd in shot put.
7th grade girls runners earning top spots in the 100 meter dash were Berklee Nore in 4th and Grace Long in 6th, in the 200 meter dash were Grace Long in 2nd, Emerson Carmichael in 5th and Irie McQueen in 7th, in the 400 meter dash were Grace Long in 2nd, Kylie Bidwell in 4th and Emerson Carmichael in 5th, in the 800 meter dash were Piper Curran in 7th, Layla Drieling in 8th, Isabela Torberson in 9th and Elise Roberts in 10th, in the 1600 meter were Piper Curran in 5th, Layla Dreiling in 6th, and Isabela Torberson in 7th. Kyie Bidwell placed 2nd in the 100 meter hurdles. Relay teams earning top spots were the 4×100 and 4×200.
7th grade girls jumpers earning top spots in long jump were Berlee Nore in 1st, Grace Long in 2nd and Irie McQueen in 3rd. Berklee Nore earned 1st place high jump as well. 7th grade girls thrower Charlie Merjil earned 2nd place in shot put and 4th place in discus.
For the 8th grade boys Konner Kukla earned top places with 10th in the 100 meter and 6th in the 200 meter dash. For the throwers, Andrew Coyle placed 3rd in shot put and 5th in discuss with Owen Hatling 7th in shot put and Reven Audiss 6th in discus.
8th grade girls runners earning top spots were Betsy Moore in 4th in the 100 meter and 10th in the 200 meter and Peyton Richardson in 7th for both the 100 meter and 200 meter. In the 100 meter hurdles Ansley O’Brien took 1st, followed by Betsy Moore in 7th and Avery Coyle in 8th. In the 200 meter hurdles Ansley took 1st and Betsy took 6th. Relay teams earning top places were the 4×100 in 2nd. 8th grade girls top placing jumpers were Ansley O’Brien in 4th, & Avery Coyle in 7th for the long jump and Rhyan Knapp placing 6th in the high jump.
The middle school track team will compete next in Lead-Deadwood.
