China Garden Reopens Under New Ownership

Belle Fourche News Other Local News

BELLE FOURCHE—If you ever get a craving for great Chinese food, then your craving just found a new home! Whether you are looking for Beef and Broccoli, General Tso’s Chicken, Happy Family, Shrimp Lo Mein, Sesame Tofu or anything in between, then the New China Garden is the place for you! The restaurant reopened for business February 28.

Under new ownership, China Garden offers a full menu with both dine in or take out options. If patrons are in a hurry over lunch time, then the buffet, full of favorites, might be a perfect fix for those short on time. The buffet is offered everyday, except Monday, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

When the new owner, Gonggui Lin, was presented with the opportunity to buy the business, he jumped at the chance. He is familiar with the location and Belle Fourche because he worked for the previous owners. Lin keeps busy traveling between his businesses in Rapid City and Belle Fourche.

When you walk in the restaurant you will most likely be greeted by Ruo Han Lin, she keeps the business running smoothly. “I’m in charge of the cash register and a waiter and in charge of the oil,” she said.

The menu is vast with something for everyone. But, of course, there are a few dishes that are very popular. Lin explains, “Sesame Chicken, General Tso’s Chicken, and the Orange Chicken and Mango Beef, your hot and spicy soup, egg drop soup, and the Fried Crab Rangoon and Fried Egg Rolls are the favorites.”

As the business gets up and going, and the employees are finding their footing, they ask for a little grace. “Sometimes we are suddenly very busy. Sometimes there will be not enough manpower, and then we may not be able to wait on people fast,” said Lin “Please be patient.”

On a side note, this reporter loves Chinese food and took the opportunity to order beef and broccoli and chicken with mushrooms and white rice and both dishes were amazing. They were served fresh and hot and cooked to perfection with so much flavor. My daughter enjoyed tofu with garlic sauce and loved it! The servings are large enough that we ate leftovers the next day!

You can find China Garden at 614 5th Ave, Belle Fourche, SD. They are open Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. They are closed on Monday.
