Margaret Bolte Special to the Beacon “We had over 100 people and raised $3,500 from our SpaghettiFundraiser! A wonderful community event!” St. James Lutheran Church representative Vicar Ronda Mehrer shared, “The funds will go directly to the communities and people who continue to deal with the devastating effects of the North Carolina storms.”

St. James Lutheran heard from church member Linda Stambaugh, whose daughter, Emily, and her husband, Lee, live in Black Mountain, North Carolina.

The couple supports the Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministries, which continues to help people impacted by the North Carolina floods and Hurricane Helene. People are living in tents and lack basic supplies.

The St. James Lutheran Church Mission and Evangelism Committee and members of St. James Lutheran went into action. The spaghetti event was organized, and volunteers provided a tasty meal of spaghetti, salads, homemade garlic bread, and pie for the community, only requesting a free will donation. Over 12 lbs. of spaghetti was served.

The funds raised will go a long way in providing much-needed assistance.
Thank you to the local and surrounding communities of Belle Fourche and Newell. The
Spaghetti Fundraiser for North Carolina Flood Victims success revealed the kindness and
