The Butte County Republican Committee held a Lincoln Day Dinner event at Grap’s Burgers & Brews on the evening of Saturday, March 29. Doors opened at 5 p.m. for attendees to enjoy dinner and an auction before hearing from the speakers for the night at 6:30.

Property rights advocate Amanda Radke took the stage first. “For three years, South Dakota landowners have shown up at the State Capitol asking our legislators for three things,” Radke said. “Number one, to protect our God-given, constitutionally protected private property rights. Number two, maintain local control, because government is best close to home by community members who actually live there. And number three, absolutely no eminent domain for carbon pipelines,” she continued. “This year, we got it done.” Prime sponsors of HB1052, Speaker Pro Tempore Karla Lems (R-Canton) and Senator Mark Lapka (R-Leola), also said a few words.

All tables in the room were full; the event was sold out, making for a great turnout for the evening. Tickets for the event cost $35 per person, or $240 for a table of 8.

In addition to being a public speaker, Amanda Radke is a cattle rancher, children’s book author, and Western retailer from Mitchell, SD.
