The Branding Iron Steak House was the site of this month’s Lunch & Learn series, hosted by the Belle Fourche Chamber of Commerce. Jennifer S. Frank, attorney with Lynn Jackson Attorneys, spoke about respectful workplace communication and conflict resolution on Wednesday, March 12 as the audience listened, learned, and enjoyed lunch from the Branding Iron’s menu.
Frank explained that a respectful workplace is one that promotes honesty and a healthy, positive, and functional work environment. She noted that a fundamental aspect of a respectful work environment is one in which employees treat another individual as they would like to be treated. When it comes to problem-solving in the workplace, Frank emphasized that as human beings, our brains our wired to go negative, so we need to work to stay positive and solve problems in a calm manner.
Frank gives presentations on the topic of workplace communication often. “I’ve done these different Lunch and Learns for like, Spearfish, Belle Fourche. I speak at a lot of these trade organizations,” she said.
