Generous Support

Happenings Newell News News

NVN-The people of the Newell, Vale, and Nisland areas have proved once again their generous hearts. The Newell Festival of Trees held in December at the Newell City Hall was crowded with Christmas fare and auctioned off to the highest bidder as residents opened their checkbooks to bid on the donated items, raffle, and by simply attending the event.

The entire Newell Festival of Trees Committee expresses gratitude for the support of the 2024 event. On behalf of the committee, Chair Judy Heisler remarked that the committee was inspired by creativity and dedication displayed by the community. The committee is proud to see the joy that the Newell Festival of Trees brought to families of the area.

Because of the generosity of the community, the Newell Ambulance, Newell and Vale Fire Departments, and the Nisland/Arpan Search and Rescue Fire Department were each given $8,000.

The support from the community helps to continue the committee’s mission of helping the fire and ambulance services, spreading holiday cheer, and raising funds for local charities.

Heisler extends a heartfelt “Thank You!” to the difference that is made in the community. The committee looks forward to 2025 December Festival of Trees.
