BELLE FOURCHE—An entertaining look at the importance of skeletons was on full display during the Tri-State Museum’s Family Fun Day on October 20. The event, Rattlin’ Skeletons provided a hands-on education to 27 participants. The skeleton theme of learning all about bones coincides perfectly with the Halloween season.

The presentation included videos about bones, real animal skeletons to examine, and a project to trace their own skeletons on large paper. A trip to the Animals Gone Wild, Haunted Spaulding Cabin was a fun activity included in the day. The event-goers finished the day by creating skeletons with q-tips.

A drawing for The Skeleton Book, with a pull out poster, was held and given out to one lucky winner. And of course, refreshments were served. Kids were sent home with an activity packet.
