An official statement from board member and past BHR Chairman Scott Reder:
I am so proud of the Black Hills Roundup for winning the Remuda of the Year award. I’ve been on the board for 20 plus years, and this is the first time we have achieved this goal. We could not have done it without Championship Pro Rodeo, the Black Hills Roundup board members, committee members and support from the city of Belle Fourche. This means a lot to us since the cowboys vote for the Remuda award. We strive to have the best stock we can so each and every contestant has a chance to win. With the changes we made this last year, I feel like the cowboys appreciate what the Black Hills Roundup and Championship Pro Rodeo have done. We look forward to making it even better next year.
An official statement from Championship Pro Rodeo in regards to the Remuda award.
We’re ecstatic for our friends at the Black Hills Roundup and completely honored that the cowboys have chosen them for the Remuda award. There are so many deserving and hard working rodeos and contractors out there that deserve recognition, but when the cowboys choose you as a standout, it really makes you feel like you’re doing something right for the industry. Our animal athletes made us very proud, but it takes a village, and the wonderful subcontractors who joined us made this elite pen possible. We have no plans of slowing down or stopping now, and we can’t wait to try to best it again next year! After all…The Buck Starts Here!

The Black Hills Roundup received the coveted Remuda Award. This is such an honor. Thank you to our stock contractors Championship Pro Rodeo, with sub-contractors Fettig Pro Rodeo, Cowtown Rodeo, Harper & Morgan Rodeo Company and Burch Rodeo. So much time, change, and effort went into this past year and risks paid off. We will release an official statement.
