Summer Playday Series Ends

NEWELL—Monday, July 29 was the awards ceremony and potluck for the Newell Family Summer Playday series. Held at the City Hall, the event was packed full of contestants, friends, and family to celebrate the accomplishments of these hard-working youth this summer.

Morgan Wulf of the Newell Community Club said that this year, the organization worked hard to come up with new prizes for the kids. Buckles, personalized jackets, cinches, and leather halters are just a few examples of the prizes given this year.

Additionally, “It was brought to our attention that the 0-3 Peewees should also be added into the second- and third-place prizes as they pay the same amount as everyone else and we agree completely. So next year, that will be the case,” said Wulf.

The Community Club thanks all of the sponsors for the playday series, as “we would not be able to do any of this without them.”
