Grossenburg Implement Open House at New Location

BELLE FOURCHE— Grossenburg Implement has completed their new 32,000 square foot, State of the Art building, located at 10882 US Highway 212, and is ready for the public to see it! An open house is scheduled at the new facility on Friday, August 23 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. It is touted as a day of play with fun events planned for everyone, including PooterQ food truck, Crazee Cow ice cream, drawings for John Deere merchandise, and kid games in the parking lot. The Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new location.

Grossenburg Implement has expanded from a single dealership in 1937 to nine locations across Nebraska, Wyoming and South Dakota. Beginning in 2007 Grossenburg Implement added Philip, SD and Pierre, SD locations. In 2012 they purchased three stores in Nebraska— Bloomfield, NE, Hartington, NE, Wayne, NE—then in 2019, Belle Fourche and Sundance, WY were added to the company, and in 2022 Beresford, SD was added.

The new location in Belle Fourche has about 15,000 more square feet, so almost double the size of the old location according to Patrick Olson, Store Lead. “We built a new building because at the location that we had before it wasn’t easy to service customers,” said Olson. “Grossenburg is customer-first focused,” he added.

Olson says his goals for the new location include expanding business, creating jobs and supporting the local community. “Just keep expanding our business to better serve the customers and then create jobs, you know, for the local economy too. We’ve expanded employees since we moved into this facility and added four guys (service technicians) and we’re probably going to add some more (jobs),” said Olson.

Olson highlighted the importance of Grossenburg’s serving the local economy and supporting the community through sponsoring events like the Black Hills Roundup. “They want to give back as much as they can. They always have. It’s a family run business and that’s really important to them,” he said. Grossenburg’s Community Fund was created just for that purpose. “We get a certain dollar amount every year that we can spend within the community. Last year, we donated money to FFAs and then the year before it was fire departments,” said Olson.

Company founders Charlie and Blanche Grossenburg set a high standard of service that is carried on today, now under the direction of the 4th generation. “It’s a family run business for four generations and they are all still involved. I mean, they’re really good to work for. It’s a great company. It’s not a conglomerate, most of these dealerships like this are all owned by big groups, where this is still family owned,” said Olson.
