The Newell kids were one of the first to enjoy the reopening of the Belle Fourche Rec Center swimming pool. Thirty-five students and five adults loaded the bus on July 8th and attended swimming lessons for two weeks.
The bus and driver, John Heisler, were provided by the Newell ISD. The lessons were set up by the Newell Community Club. The Rec Center had an abundance of teachers and lifeguards that taught the kids valuable swimming skills. July 18th was the last day of instruction, and the kids were able to swim on their own and enjoy the giant slide. Certificates were awarded to show the skill levels the kids had conquered. Thanks to all that made this opportunity possible.
